  1. QUESTIONS:
WRITE A FIVE POINT PRESENTATION ON PRAYER THAT YOU HAVE LEARNT ON THIS PLATFORM.

1 GOD STILL ANSWERS PRAYERS IN TIMES OF TROUBLE

When we are pressed up against troubling times, let us look up to God for help. Turning to God for help is the best thing to do. Let it not be a one time thing rather it should be our habit. We should pray habitually.

If anyone needed help in time of trouble, it was Daniel. This verse finds him sentenced to a pit of lions for praying to and worshiping God (Daniel 6:13-18). Psalms 102:17 says “He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayers”.
If we establish a daily habit of turning to God in our lives, it’s more likely to be our immediate reaction in times of trouble.

2 Kings 20:1-6 is a story of Hezekiah, he was sick to death and God sent His prophet Isaiah to inform him of his impending death.
When he got the message, he didn’t waste time thinking about resigning to fate or how to put his house in order. Instead, Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed reminding God how he had walked with Him in his youth. And God answered him and added 15 years to his years.

2 OBSTACLES TO PRAYERS ARE OVERCOME BY PRAYERS

To be a winner in life, you must overcome the obstacles of life. No one ever wins a race in life without a press or a run. To be a successful and victorious Christian in life, you must overcome the battles of life. The Prayer of faith is key to overcoming the obstacles of your life.

Matthew 17:20: 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
The following list identifies the most common prayer barriers in a believer’s life.

    –Unconfessed sins.
    –Lack of faith.
    –Disobedience
    –Failure to forgive.
    –Failure to pray
    –Tiredness

Unconfessed sins:- When we harbor sin in our lives, it dams up the flow and scrambles the spiritual channels of communication to the Father. (Psalm 66:18)

Without faith: – a settled confidence – in the character and power of God, we should not expect our prayers to be answered. Our faith in God grows as we spend time hearing the Word of God.

3 PRAYERS GROWS AS THE PERSON GROWS

Prayer” is a word and a concept everybody is familiar with. Muslims, Buddhists, those who practice Hinduism, and Satanism all pray. But of all the people in all the world, only Christians connect with the Creator when they pray. Prayer is, or it should be, the centerpiece of one’s faith. Many Christians believe that nothing happens apart from prayer. Jesus Himself advised His friends to pray that God’s will would be done on earth as it is done in heaven. Men ought always to pray, and not to faint. (Luke 18:1 KJV)

    The necessity of prayer

Given that prayer is so important, it’s curious that a command to pray is not in the Ten Commandments. In fact, much of what we know about prayer comes from studying the people who prayed in Scripture, not necessarily from individual verses that give us detailed instructions. We can learn a lot about prayer by looking at how the heroes of the faith practiced it.
The more we pray, the more we know God and his plans for us will be revealed.

4 PRAYER CARRIES ALL REQUEST TO GOD

As Christians, we have a way to acknowledge [our anxiety] and even plead in our despair and feel that we are not alone.
The specific passage is Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV), which states:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
The passage above shows that through prayers our requests are present to God.
THAT ONE PRAYER REQUEST THAT REALLY PLEASES GOD! (One prayer that has answers to every other request.)

    1 KINGS 3:7-13
When God asked King Solomon to ask for anything, King Solomon asked for wisdom, he didn’t just ask for wisdom to do his own thing. He asked for wisdom to take care of God’s people. Wisdom to lead God’s people the way God wanted him to lead.
And God granted his request because King Solomon’s request was sincere.

5 PRAYERS BRINGS OUT THE BEST IN US

Prayer isn’t just about asking God for things you need or desire. It’s about establishing a relationship with Him built on faith and trust in Him. God knows the desires of your heart long before you even think to ask, but he still loves to hear from you—whether you’re asking for guidance or giving thanks—because it draws you closer to him.
Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. — Romans 12:2
Our transformation begins with a crucial first step. If we’re to become more like Jesus — and the best “us” we can be — we must understand that life challenges don’t make us who we are; they reveal who we are. We can take what is revealed through our challenges and use that as an opportunity to point us in a new direction. And if we trust in God, the challenge will strengthen our faith. Whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. — James 1:2-4
The hotter the fire, the purer the gold.

  2. Answer to the Quiz Question

Prayer, which is very important, Serves as a medium of communicating with God. The Significance of prayer cannot be over-emphasized. Some facts are presented below-concerning prayer.

Firstly, prayer cannot be replaced by any other thing. This implies that nothing can take the place of prayer. Let us examine the scriptures in the book of John Chapter 15 Verse 5; ” I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in
him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without me ye can do nothing?.

Since prayer is a major way of speaking with God through our Lord Jesus Christ who is the true vine, we have no other way of reaching Him and therefore prayer cannot be placed aside. Some of us might be of the opinion that what about songs of praises and thanksgiving? Let me assure you that all those are Continue reading

  3. In times like these, when we are overwhelmed by trials, temptations, pressures, diseases, and others such as these, we need a safe haven; someone we can pour our hearts to. This person is our Father in Heaven and we do this through prayer. Prayer is communing with God.

As you pray continually, you develop a personal relationship with God to the extent that you can hear Him speak to you. When you truly seek God, you will look for HIM in prayer. Prayer is an essential ingredient in the Christian race.

Here are some key points about prayer:

Prayer brings out the best in you: When you spend time in the shelter of the Most High, He speaks to you and lets you know the areas in your life you need to work on. When you maintain a consistent prayer life, your mind is transformed by its renewal (Rom.12:2). One great power we have as humans is our mind.

By exercising it positively, we become better, consequently, the best and this is shown to the whole world to see to the glory of the Father. Our Lord Jesus while He lived on earth, lived a life of prayer and at the end, He was exalted (Lk 6:12, Phil 2:9). Through prayer, we get to know the mind of God, and since we are His workmanship, we reflect His image in the world which is the best. (Eph 2:10).

Prayer gives angels reasons to serve you as a child of God: The Word Of God says, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and He delivers them” (Ps 34:7). Those who pray are loved by God and He sends His angels to deliver them. He will also send His angels to shield you, and protect you. You will not be harmed as His angels will carry you (Ps 91:11,12).

Our Lord Jesus before his death, in pain and anguish, prayed and cried out to God and God sent an angel to strengthen Him (Lk 22:43). Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not bow down to the statue and were to be burnt but God sent His angel and protected them (Dan 3:1-30). Also, great men like Manoah, Abraham, Zechariah were ministered to by angels because they were men of prayer. In our time if we truly pray with sincere hearts, God will send angels to serve and minister unto us.

Prayer grows as the person grows: The more you talk to someone, your relationship with that person improves. You are free to express your mind with that person without fear. So it is with God. The more of Him you know, the more you will want to know. As you fellowship with Him, you will grow and become better and yield more fruits unto righteousness. God wants us to be mature as Christians because no one wants a stunted child.
The more you avail yourself to pray, the stronger you will be and you will see that you enjoy His presence and spend more hours with Him. You will long for His presence as a deer pants for water and He will strengthen you to be able to overcome all the schemes of the evil one and give you victory (Ps 42:1).

God still answers prayers in troubled times: Many times in the book of Psalms, we see how David called on the Lord for deliverance, protection, provision (Ps 121:1, 28:2, 55:17). God is a faithful God. In times that are troubled is when He wants you to be still and experience His power. When you pray, you call on God and He hears.

Though it may seem like all hope is gone, but with prayer, we can move mountains. Sometimes, there are trials, worries, pains, anxiety that could set our minds off God but with persistent prayer like the woman and the judge, we shall overcome (1 Pt 4:7). Some trials are to test our faith but the more we keep praying, we shall receive our request if we exercise patience and it is the will of God (Mt 7:7, 1 Jn 5:14-15).

A man of prayer is a reservoir of testimonies: Someone who prays has a reason to testify always because he has seen the favour and mercies of God. Satan is defeated by the words of our testimony. If we do not pray, Satan will have His way in our lives and remain strong. When we pray, we receive God’s blessings and we know from the Bible that the prayer of a righteous person availeth much (Js 3:16). When we pray more, we are connected to God more and we see Him working in ways we cannot see. Let us learn to testify of God’s manifold blessings.
Prayer is a pathway to God, let us pray more and we shall see and experience God more and more.

    Thank you.

  4. Prayer grows as the person grows: We enter into a relationship with God when we become Christians and praying in the Holy Ghost makes us to grow. As you pray more of God’s word your faith grows and when your words echo His own words you grow closer to him. Growing your prayer life will be one of the most significant spiritual disciplines you will develop. Jer 33:3 says “call unto me and I will answer thee and show the great and mighty things which thou knowest not”.

God hears and answers you when you pray, understanding this marvelous truth is step one to grow in your prayer life. But you must understand what God is saying concerning you or you might end up not fulfilling your purpose. This is the secret to growing your prayer life. When you realize that your prayers connect with God and that God responds to them by giving you what you need, your prayer life will grow.

The Psalmist said in Psalm 63:1-8 (paraphrased), that he thirsted after God, that is growth and this was made possible when he sought God (prayers) early praying without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17) and we saw that God upheld him and fought for him. Continuous prayer leads to continuous growth and the manifestation will be visible for all to see from within to without.

Prayer gives Angels reasons to serve you: In Hebrews 1:14, we see God telling us that Angels come to minister to us, but in order for them to take action or direction, we must speak the word of God in Faith, in agreement with it. Why? Because they only do what the Father, tells them to do, and as a son of God, a child of God, with the presence of God living in you, you have permission and authority to speak to them, but the positive words of the Bible will only work, not negative or destructive words, telling them to go and hurt someone, they simply will fold their hands and step aside.

The Bible says “angels encamp around those who fear Him” (Psalm 34:7), fear as in reverence, to God. We see God tells us that angels come to minister to us but in order to make them take action or direction, we must speak the word of God in faith in agreement with it. We also saw Jesus in Matthew 4:11 being ministered to by the angels on the mountain of prayer. In the case of Daniel in Daniel 10:12-13, he prayed and angels served him by taking his answers to him. Our ministering àngels always await our command to be put to work but ignorance of the presence of the angels keeps them at bay.

Prayer is spending time with God: The main reason God created man is for him to have fellowship with man, we discover that in Genesis 3:8, God did come down in the cool of the day to fellowship with man until he fell. Prayer can be incorporated into a daily “thought life”, in which one is in constant communication with God (Daniel 6:10). Some people pray throughout all that is happening during the day and seek guidance. Jer 33:3 says call unto me and I will answer and show you great and mighty things which thou knowest not.

There may be a time of outward silence while prayers are offered mentally or body postures may be assumed, often with specific meaning (mainly respect or adoration) associated with them: standing; sitting; kneeling; prostrate on the floor; eyes opened; eyes closed; hands folded or clasped; hands upraised; holding hands with others; a laying on of hands and others. Often, there are prayers to fit specific occasions, God promises in Scripture to be with us always, so we can trust that He is already with us.

Prayer connects humanity to Divinity: Many Christians misunderstand prayer, and the devil has capitalized on this confusion making some persons who claim to know God not recognize how powerful prayer is. The enemy knows that when done properly, prayer can completely shut him down. Lots of people follow a formula for prayer that relies on too many and empty words, but prayer is two-way communication with God, He speaks and listens to you speak. Talking with him in this way connects us to his unlimited power and love.

Religion teaches us that prayer is hit-or-miss and that we won’t always get an answer from God when we pray. But, he has answers for every prayer we offer him. “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” (Luke 11:9, 10). If we didn’t hear his response, it may be because we weren’t tuned in to his frequency the way we should have been. Our motivations when we pray are also important, and when we come to him with unselfish motives, he hears us.

Prayer makes no condition permanent: There is no condition that one seriously and genuinely prays for a change that doesn’t change (Act 9:40), this is confirmed in Mat. 18:18, it says “whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” so when we pray concerning a thing he gives a quick response especially when it’s done in faith. There are many scenarios in the Bible whereby people and things change through prayers of faith. Until your faith is activated in prayer there can’t be changed. Elisha prayed that it shouldn’t rain for three and half years and His words came to pass 1 Kings 17:1. He prayed again and rain fell (James 5:17-18). The earnest prayer of a righteous man has the power to change things (James 5:16b). There’s no permanent condition with prayer, just a little prayer of faith will go a mighty long way.
